Within this community, the individual is accepted in his own identity and personality and can experience a sense of shelteredness and solidarity. Living in a community allows the development of a deeper understanding of other human beings and thus fosters tolerance and catholicity.
Sharing faith
The congregation of the Alexian Brothers is dedicated to medical and health care all over the world.The Alexian Brotherhood consists of 70 friars in two provinces and in two regions in seven countries. (USA, Great Britain, Ireland, Germany, Belgium, Hungary, Philippines).
In Germany there is a province with 4 convents, in which around 20 brothers live. The mother house of the province is located in Aachen, the Generalate of the world-wide congregation is located in Signal Mountain/Tennessee, USA.
In order to promote the spiritual, cultural, and religious work of the Alexian brothers, the congregation has launched the foundation Stiftung der Alexianerbrüder. It hopes thereby to ensure a future for the Alexian spirit and to do good deeds in the name of Christ in a health system of great complexity and numerous challenges.
